Smarter brainstorming, not louder meetings

Module 6 · Thinking With AI · follows Lesson 6-2

Key idea: AI doesn't dominate meetings - it listens to your ideas, adds more, and helps you think differently. It's especially good for quieter teams, remote workers, or solo planning.

Scenario: You're planning an internal campaign to encourage staff to complete their compliance training on time. The usual approach - a reminder email, maybe a guilt-trip poster near the lift - works a bit, but it doesn't spark much motivation. You want better ideas, not louder reminders.

Your task

Open ChatGPT or Copilot Chat. Treat it as a quiet brainstorm partner - someone who builds on your ideas, not drowns them out.

Step 1. Give it the context, plus 2-3 ideas you might already have. Or borrow these: monthly leaderboard; add it to team meeting agendas; offer a small prize for 100% completion.

Step 2. Ask it to build on them. Then challenge it with constraints:

Prompt - paste into your AI
Give me 10 more ideas - all under $100.
What would work for remote staff who never come into the office?
What would appeal to people who hate being nagged?

Step 3. Pick one of its better ideas and ask an extension question of your own:

Prompt - paste into your AI
Can you improve this?
How would this work in a team of introverts?
What's a simple way to test this next week?

Tip: AI doesn't dominate the meeting. It doesn't interrupt. It's not scared to say something weird. That makes it surprisingly useful for people who brainstorm better after the meeting - or when working alone.
