Lesson 6-2 · Module 6

Don't outsource thinking. Stretch it.

Thinking With AI · 2:05 video

Scenario: You've been trialling a new support model for customers. Instead of just human support staff, customers now get the option to chat online with a human agent, or use an AI assistant.

You've been piloting it for 6 weeks. Some customers love the instant answers; others say the AI is too robotic or unhelpful. Some staff say it's reduced their workload; others worry it's giving wrong advice and increasing complaints.

Now you need to decide: should we extend the pilot? Expand it? Or wrap it up?

Your task

Open ChatGPT (recommended) or Copilot Chat. Use it to help you think - not decide. Here's the background to give it:

Prompt - paste into your AI
Our team has been running a pilot program for a new kind of customer support. Instead of just human agents, customers now have the option to chat with an AI assistant too. The results so far have been mixed. Some people love the speed. Others complain about the tone. I've heard glowing reviews and a few absolute horror stories. Now the leadership team is asking: should we extend the pilot, or not?

Ask it to:

  • Make the case for extending the pilot
  • Make the case against it
  • Raise risks and trade-offs
  • Suggest who might benefit and who might lose out
  • Highlight what would need to change to make it more successful

You don't need fancy language. Start simple, then push:

  • "What else?"
  • "What might I be missing?"
  • "How would this look from the CEO's point of view?"

🔁 Keep this in mind

This module is about thinking better - not copying perfect prompts. So don't accept the first answer, nudge for better ones, and ask for different perspectives. You're not trying to get a decision from the AI. You're trying to make a better decision with it.
